Block House, Built 1764, Pittsburgh, PA.
PRINTED ON BACK: “In a strip of ground, 20 feet wide, 90 feet long, situated in the Point District or Fort Pitt as it was known in the early years of Pittsburgh’s history, stands a little building, known as the Block House, the first constructed at a point near where the three rivers meet. It was built by Colonial Henry Boquet of the British Army, while he was in command at Fort Pitt in 1764. Daughters of the American Revolution, who obtained the Block House for preservation purposes, had surrounding buildings torn down, beautified the grounds and made other changes to restore the original appearance.”
Linen. Pretty good condition with no writing, postage, or creases. Some typical signs of wear along the edges and corners. Some yellowing / discoloration, especially on the back. Definitely not pristine condition, but nothing too crazy.
