Peach Bay
PRINTED ON BACK: “A 52-foot, twin-screw, diesel powered, rugged off-shore cruiser designed and built by Edsel Bashor for Peachie and Bayliss Spivey, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.”
Mailed August 16, 1967. Chrome. Not in great condition, but I think it makes up for it in character. There’s a cancelation mark on the front, along with some old tape. There’s also some spots across the front where the top layer of the card has come up, messing up the picture a little. There’s also a bit of discoloration going on.
HANDWRITTEN: “Hi Dan – Dot et al
I am on my way home. Just stopped off with my friend and roommate. His home is near Myrtle Beach perhaps you have heard of it, a very exclusive and beautiful resort. See you all soon.
Your friend,
Ralph”
*Note: I covered up the address for privacy when I took these photos for Instagram. While unlikely the recipients of this postcard still live at this same location all these years later, I figure better safe than sorry. Needless to say, the postcard doesn’t actually have a line over the address.
