Theodore Roosevelt’s Grave, Young’s Memorial Cemetary, Oyster Bay, L.I. N.Y.
Mailed on July 21, 1927. Lots of writing on the front and back, a couple of the corners are bent, and general discoloration.
HANDWRITTEN: “Dear Mother,
If Mary doesn’t save “Annie” you might send them to me for I miss some through carelessness. I couldn’t get any Tuesday of this week and I got none Saturday. I got Wed. but I didn’t get today. I hate to lose connection about how she gets those robbers. I’ll return them if Mary saves them. I am sending you the Presbyterian which Miss _?_ sent me today. Save these postcards. I had card from Miss Prisk. Next week we have tests. I heard the Philharmonic Orchestra last night. It was wonderful. 14000 people there to hear it. Not any noise from the 14000 could you hear while they played.
Love, Elsie
This is where I was Saturday. A very ordinary slab for the monument. You can see the two taller trees in the rear corners and the two lower round shrubs in front corners.
Weighed 157 today.”
