Backbone of the Continent, Colorado
Mailed July 12, 1912. Decent condition, but there the edges are a bit rough and there’s some discoloration. Really pretty picture though and the note is one of my favorites, in all its oddness.
HANDWRITTEN: “I am at Crags, Boulder Co. Colo, wondering if I belong to anyone, anywhere. Speak now or hold your peace forever. You know Uncle Sam is always very good to forward mail, but I have not had a letter from anyone since year before last. I am on the eastern slope of the backbone, but can see it very plainly. Rain with us means snow up there.
Love,
Lucile”
