Pikes Peak, Colo. Altitude, 14,110 Feet
PRINTED ON BACK: “Although there are many loftier mountain peaks in Colorado, Pikes Peak is the eminence which is first thought of in connection with the Colorado Rockies. Situated in the first eastern range, it can be seen one hundred miles away, and its white top has been a land-mark ever since its discoverer, after whom it is named, despairingly said that its top would probably never be trodden by man.”
Mailed on July 14, 1947. Badly stained and the edges are in rough shape.
HANDWRITTEN: “Grandma
I hope your trip is as good as mine. I am at Pikes Peak now but will go home next.
James”
